Ok, ok, ok....I might have gone a bit overboard, but I couldn't help myself! Moxon got this GREAT collar from Lucky Fiona and we just loved the retro inspired look! Shannon, the ever so artsy and crafty owner of Lucky Fiona hand picks all her material and we think she has AWESOME taste!

Shannon was generous to supply me some scrap material.....I just had to do it! Lyla was screaming to look stylish and match her big sister pooch, Moxon. Can you blame a mom to succumb?

How outrageously priced are those hooter-hiders that you can buy at retail stores??? A little deconstruction and some help from Maga (Lyla's Grandma) and we created our own nursing cover and a burp cloth to match!!!

It worked out great and no one would ever know that Lyla is having lunch too!

Little Gia was born on 1.17.09 and I did some custom burp cloths just for her with her first intial since Merritt and Alison were holding the name under lock and key! I love when I get to see them in use!

I love making these little crayon rolls, they are a huge hit and great for big sister/big brother gifts! Each are completely washable and I love making up new color designs. I've been keeping myself busy with only 10 days until my due date!

Annabelle is my 7 year old neighbor and we've had so much fun together lately! She has taken a real interest in sewing and has come over here to learn a few things about sewing. We've done a quilt blanket for a school project and she even sewed her own crayon roll! I think she has a real knack for it and I'm so glad that she's looking to me for some help!

Annabelle even made me a blanket for the baby with fabrics she picked herself! I can't wait for the baby to be able to cuddle up with this warm fleece blanket! Thanks Annabelle, we love it! I especially love her drawing of my sewing room on the front of her card!

35 years of marriage...wow!

My parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on December 22nd, 2008. Through the good times and the bad, I couldn't thank my parents enough for being there for me and loving each other still after all these years.

I made a monogram for them which I stitched on a down throw blanket commemorating their wedding year, 1973! Congratulations mom and dad!

I think they will get some use out of it!

Ok, so I like all of these that went into this set....there are alot of them that I like, but what's important is that others like them too!!! The best part about these blocks is that they are appliqued with minky soft fabric. Baby will love to be burped with this one!!!

A little girl name Charlotte will be receiving this little bodysuit for Christmas with one of my favorite designs. I can't thank all of those that have helped support ElephanToes so far while I have been out of a job.

I just love these spring colors in this design.....especially amidst all this snow and cold. I have to say, if we have a little girl, I think she might be sporting something similar.

This is another of my favorites....I love the bird and the homegrown part on the back!!! Too funny. Thanks to Julie Forgue for helping me come up with this idea! Her friend Michelle is expecting in February.....she let me get a head start on the burp cloths since I'm due Jan. 24.

My friend Kara loved her crayon roll so much, she contacted me to do another for her niece, Isabel. This time though, she gave me a MUCH better idea for closure. When I started this crayon roll it was for my 7 year old niece who can tie the ribbon in a bow, but for smaller hands and easier closure, Kara asked if I could do one with Velcro. I think this came out super and the little ones won't have a problem securing....also, a great mommy tip for safety! Thanks Kara and I hope Isabel enjoys this!

Rolling out another Crayon Roll

All rolled up...

So this was a slight modification from my last attempt. I made this one a bit bigger and personalized it with 'Anna'. I made the crayon roll slightly bigger this time so the flap could be folded down to ensure that the crayons or markers would not come out if thrown into a purse or diaper bag. I think this modification is the winning design.

So I found an inexpensive gift idea for my 7 year old niece, Carson. She loves to doodle and color and when we went to a restaurant, she would inevitably bring her box of crayons and markers to pass the time before we would eat. I thought this idea was compact and easy to transport. Blog me and I'll send you the instructions! I used the short markers for this project, but crayons fit too!

So I saw this too cute idea on the internet for kids that have just started crawling....they are called Baby Legs and then wanted to try my hand at them myself. I found this tutorial online, although some of the instructions were a bit confusing, I'm now down to less than 10 min. to make a pair. Check out the first pair! I think these would be adorable under a little jean skirt for this fall!

I did this for my friend Alison. Her parents have a pontoon boat on Cheat Lake in WV and she came up with a great Father's Day gift set. Pictured here is a T-shirt, swim trunks, and a micro fiber towel that all have the boat's name on it...."Moe Fun". Alison credited me with naming the boat, but I don't really remember, although it is something I would ask them, "What's the name of your boat? You don't have a name? Well you should come up with a name!"

Let me explain my fascination with boat names. All through high school and college, I worked at a company that buffed and waxed boats. I loved to go around the marina and find the most interesting boat names and would day dream that one day, I would have a boat and I'd name it after me, Mar-Sea....get it, Marcy....ha ha! I know that's so vain, but hey we can all dream!

So, I've been doing burp cloths now for a while and Kara Hartman was my very first customer! I did her first baby, Anna's burp cloths before I even knew what I was getting myself into.

Kara just had her 2nd little girl, Josephine Mae Hartman on 5.8.08, "Josie" for short. I want to congratulate her and thank her for all her support through the year. She is constantly helping with designs and recommending me to her friends. She ordered 4 cloths for her own, and I threw one in there since she's so extra special. Thanks again Kara!

I would consider myself "with the time", but without time so I fought the blogging revolution until I met my crafty friend Shannon and she said you HAD to get a blog. She has 4 kids and I'm complaining about not having enough time!!! What was I waiting for? I thought this might be a good outlet and the peer pressure was inviting! Let's see what happens......
